Port Moody honours two of its own along the Shoreline Trail

This month, Port Moody dedicated two of its best-loved waterfront landmarks to the people who helped build them. The Shoreline Trail boardwalk now carries the name of Ann Hulbert, a city councillor for 21 years and a steady voice for environmental initiatives, who passed away in 2025 and was instrumental in planning the original boardwalk.

The Shoreline Trail itself was dedicated to David Driscoll, who served four terms as Port Moody’s mayor and played a foundational role in creating the trail, helping establish it as one of the city’s most important recreational and environmental corridors.

Both received the city’s Freedom of the City honour, reserved for residents who have made an exceptional, lasting contribution to Port Moody. For a trail that sees roughly 230,000 visits a year, it’s a quiet but fitting way to remember the people behind it.
