Hi, I’m Divyam.
I’ve lived in Port Moody for six years, in Suter Brook. I moved here as an immigrant, didn’t know anyone, and slowly fell in love with this city the way a lot of people do: one walk along the Shoreline Trail, one Friday night on Murray Street, one conversation with a neighbour at a time.
A grocery store breaking ground down the street. A neighbourhood fundraiser. A 43-year volunteer doing something remarkable a few blocks away. The information existed — it just wasn’t in one place, and it wasn’t written for the people who actually live here.
So I started writing it myself.
I’m not a journalist by training. I’m a neighbour who pays attention, verifies what I publish, and genuinely cares about this city. I also happen to have spent 15 years working in digital strategy and change management — which mostly just means I know how to find things out and how to communicate clearly.
Outside the newsletter, I’m a portrait artist. I’ve been painting for twelve years — it’s the other way I try to pay attention to people. You can find that work at @divyamkaushik_art on Instagram.
